About Us
At Banh Sai, we're all about good food, good vibes, and a little throwback to the glory days of the 80s and 90s. We grew up in that era - the games, the music, the movies - and it shows on our menu. Many of our dishes are named after our favorite pop culture moments (shoutout to the Cobra Fries, a nod to Cobra Kai, stacked with sauce, green onions, and red bell peppers). It's comfort food with a side of nostalgia.
Chef Austin has been passionate about cooking since he was a kid. He's cooked in kitchens from Charlotte to Fort Lauderdale to Charleston before settling down in Wilmington - where his wife Lucy grew up- to plant roots and build something special.
Banh Sai started as a food truck in 2020, traveling from place to place sharing food and fun, but we found our home base in the Cargo District. This local community of small businesses just felt right. Now we get to call it home.
Our goal is simple: create a laid-back space where people can enjoy bold flavors, refreshing drinks, and maybe get hit with a wave of "remember when?" along the way. We serve up rotating specials like ramen, curry, banh mi, bao buns, wings, and more! Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options available!
